Yuletide Letter
Oct. 26th, 2015 08:52 amI have a lot more to say about some characters than others, but this doesn't mean I love them more or less, I promise, just that there's more specifics in my head at the moment.
You don't have to include all characters in one story for me either. Please write a story you love!
DNW gore, profanity, cheating/infidelity, unrequested pairings or unrequested total AUs please.
長歌行 - 夏達 | Cháng Gē Xíng - Xià Tá
LI CHANG GE
Li Chang Ge is my favorite character. She's strong and fierce and mature enough to grow up and realize what she wants and turn away from revenge in favor of being a true leader and princess for her people. I love everything about her. I love how she ignores her own weaknesses. I love her loyalty. I love her willingness to do what needs to be done. I love her keen intelligence and her deft handling of people.
I ship her with Ashina Sun but don't need to see her in a ship if you'd rather not. I loved her and Mimi's relationship with Mimi in love with her and not sure how to handle it and her loving Mimi but not really treating that as being in love with Mimi or treating any kind of love as more or less important than another. I'd love exploration of either of those relationships, but no smut please.
I'd also love exploration of any of her platonic relationships with her allies and friends, manipulating political situations, working out her goals through well thought out schemes, or finally returning to Situ Langlang and taking up the swords as his disciple. I absolutely loved the panels of her learning those forms, and I would love seeing more of her mastering them and training with Situ, who strikes me as very much a lovable jerk at times. Though I wouldn't mind seeing her and Situ Langlang in a relationship with or without on-screen sex when she comes back for him to train her and I don't even know why, okay, I just want it?
SITU LANGLANG
Situ Langlang is a fun character with a darker edge I'd love to see explored. I would love to see him training under his former master of Yue Nu (a woman!), Su Ni, or some exploration of his loyalty to Master Sun for saving Su Ni. Twenty years is an incredible oath of fealty and I'd love to see how he became her disciple, why he loved her so much, and of course, I just love his protectiveness of Master Sun and his irrepressible impudence even in light of Master Sun's gentle chidings.
I love that Yue Nu required him to search for a suitable woman and the way he deals with Chang Ge, challenging her but also the way he compliments or provides for her. As above, I'd love to see when Chang Ge returns to train and a platonic or not so platonic relationship between them. I also, oddly enough, kind of love the idea of him and Luo Shi Ba, fighting or respecting each other's background and traditions, and friendship or shippiness.
I love the swords Airy Crescent and Gentle Rainbow and would love to see them figure in fic. I'd also love to explore more about that line to "wield the blade of murder with a pure heart", which I'm pretty sure Chang Ge did in the temple, btw.
LUO SHI BA
Someone else suggested shipping Luo Shi Ba with Xu Feng after the whole guarding Chang Ge's door when she wouldn't let him pass, on pain of using her sword, and I absolutely love the idea of shipping those two or her with Situ Langlang. I would love fic focusing on her upbringing or training becoming a female warrior or her loyalty to the young master, Chang Ge. I love her personality and her dialogue and her strength and would love to know more about her.
MUJIN
I love Mujin and his sense of humor and just every time he shows up on panels. He's light and fun but he can do serious too. I'd love to see him growing up with Ashina Sun and protecting him and their relationship, or when they went to war together or Mujin taking care of the khaganate (sp?) in Ashina's absence or the three-way relationship when Chang Ge was still with them or anything really. I love him.
OTHER
If you want to focus a fic around Mimi or Chang Ge's mom or Xu Feng or Ashina Sun instead, I would enjoy that as well. I love character studies or developing relationships or established relationships and everything about this manhua. I also wouldn't mind a fix-it where Ashina got to actually meet his mom instead of arriving minutes or hours after her death. I kind of get the feeling Chang Ge's uncle wanted her to live and exploration of that would not go amiss either.
食戟のソーマ | Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
TADOKORO MEGUMI
Relationships: I ship her platonically or romantically with Yukihira Souma. I don't ship her with anyone else at this point, but I love her friendships with the other girls in Polar Star Dorm and her backstory with the men of her village and her family at home.
I would love to see more of her cooking or her relationships, her thoughts during various scenes, first time kiss or sex with Souma, five times fics with friends or gardening or dorm life, or maybe mentoring letters with Hinako, who took such a shine to her. Whatever tickles your fancy.
KUROKIBA RYOU
Relationships: I'd love to see him in his relationship with Alice, platonically or not, but no other ships with him please.
His backstory intrigues me, his growing up years with Alice seem both fraught and fun, but there's the question unanswered entirely why he never won his "freedom" back in a challenge when that's how he lost it and canonically he has won challenges since. He has these two sides to his personality but seems to genuinely be deferential to Alice a lot of times rather than grudgingly. I'm curious about more exploration into his mindset and life and thinking.
INUI HINAKO
Relationships: I strongly ship Hinako/Shinomiya.
Young Hinako or current timeline Hinako interests me. I loved her gentleness and the way she clearly liked Megumi right away and her clear affection for Shinomiya. I'd love to see more of her in slice of life or five times story or backstory or futurefic or shippyness. No smut for her please.
YUKIHIRA JOUICHIROU | SAIBA JOUICHIROU
Relationships: I'd love to see more about his time at Tootsuki and his relationships with the other members of the Elite Ten Council, especially Nakiri Azami and Doujima Gin. I also would love to see more of his relationship with Jun or with Souma's mother. And I'd love to see more of his relationship with his son.
Like Souma, there's a lot going on in the background and under the surface and he doesn't really talk about it a lot or even share much with his son. I want to see past those aggravating walls into some of his mind and memory and life and I don't even care where on the timeline or which relationship(s) you care to explore, I just want more!
赤毛のアン | Akage No Anne | Anne of Green Gables (Anime)
ANNE
I'm loving this entire adaptation and the way it highlights Anne's imagination and lets me feel like a part of the fancies she weaves around herself. I'd love to see her from the perspective of all the plants calling to her or the house and Bonnie and the Snow Queen greeting her when she comes home to stay or anything at all from her perspective. I'm only at episode 6 right now, but I hope to finish the series before Christmas, so feel free to include material and relationships from anywhere in it.
LILY
I'd love to see some of the time spent with Anne before going with Mrs. Spencer or at least before parting. The way she ran to Anne and greeted her made me think Lily loved Anne and there had to be a reason for that.
MATTHEW & MARILLA
I'd love to see more of their relationship with Anne or each other. I love Matthew and Anne's friendship and I'm more and more curious about what's going on in Marilla's head as she grows to care for and like Anne. I'd love to see more about their youth and how that shaped them and some of the good moments they had and their sibling relationship.
Anne of Green Gables Movies (1985-1987)
EMMELINE HARRIS (AOGG MOVIES)
I love the movies and the books, but for this I'm mostly interested in the movies and the what if trail of Anne/Morgan and Emmeline and her family. I'd love to see how her life changed when Anne came into it and her perspective of her family and their relationships, maybe even canon divergence where Anne does marry Morgan. I really loved the way their whole family was portrayed in the movies and would love more.
The People - Zenna Henderson
Despite the tagset and this request thus saying so, Karen's last name is NOT Diemus and please do not use it that way in the story. I understand that was her last name in the obscure movie adaptation but this request is solely for the short stories/book.
KAREN & VALANCY & MELODYE AMERSON
I would love to see more of Valancy's backstory and her relationship and perspective on her relationship with Jemmy, like their courtship that Karen couldn't see and maybe trying to have a baby, marriage, etc.
I would love to see Karen studying sorting with Valancy and their mentorship, friendship, sister-in-law relationship and balancing all those aspects and then Karen going off to school and her school days with Melodye and how that trust developed in the first place for Melodye to find out and their friendship and maybe their letters afterward.
I don't need all these things in one fic, but any part of this would thrill me to pieces.
Austin & Murry-O'Keefe Families - Madeleine L'Engle
VICKY/ADAM
I absolutely loved A Ring of Endless Light. It's one of my favorite books. I'd love to see more of their developing relationship and facing the things about it that scare them. Adam was so gun-shy with her at first and boy, did he get insulting to try to hold her at bay, but in the end, they were so beautiful and sweet when they let each other in. I'd love to see more kything (maybe kything during first time together?) or dealing with life or dolphins or their relationship. I also wouldn't mind missing scenes or Adam POV or futurefic.
MEG/CALVIN
I just absolutely love these two and want so much more of the courting/teen and post-teen years where he's fitting into her family and they're figuring out their plans for life and they're going from friends plus to actually in a relationship. Also obvious by now, I'd love first times fic. Domesticity or study banter or science adventure or unabashed just shipfic all welcome.
